"Access Denied" when logging in on phone for first time

General Support Forum

Submitted by kitster on 7/19/08 5:07 PM.

Hello all,

I have created my account, can obviously log in to THIS site..
Added a couple of stations and am ready to go!

But when I log in to m.moodio.fm on my phone (Sprint Samsung
Instinct - SPH-m800) I consistently get the "Access Denied - You
are not authorized to access this page" error.

Anyone else got this in the past, or anyone have an idea on what
I can do to get to my music?

thanks,
Kitster

Could you check the settings of the browser on your phone and see if cookies are enabled? The site does not work without cookies.

And cookies look to be enabled. There isn't a setting for enable/disable of cookies - but there is one for deleting cookies - so I am assuming that the Instinct browser accepts them.

Now, another problem has arisen. I cannot even get to the m.mobile.fm page. When I type it into the browser, it loads for a while (while the current web page displays in the browser) - then after a minute or so, the browser closes, and it defaults to my "Spead Dial" list. Weird.

I have tried restarting the phone to no avail. Is there another url or ip address I can try? I will probably just wait until the phone update in the next couple of weeks before I try again. EIther something may be fixed with the on-board browser, or they can get Opera Mini to accept keyboard input and I can try it from there.

Any other ideas?

thanks,
Kit

Hm.

Maybe some cached page or cookie is corruped - you could try to delete all cookies and clear the browser cache.. (?)

The direct URL for the login page is http://m.moodio.fm/node/62 , what happens if you open that address directly?

I thought this would work, since it took a little longer -
but it still closed the broswer and went to my 'speed dial'.
Oh well! Thanks for the help - I will wait and see if the
'major update' for the phone (due in the next week or two)
and see if that helps out.

thanks,
Kit

Hello!

I am still having troubles logging in on my Instinct.
I log in with the correct user/pass, but when I try..

"Acess Denied - You are not authorized to access this page"

I was hoping the September browser upgrade would be sufficient,
but it is still giving me the above error.

I was in the Sprint store today, and I picked up the HTC Diamond,
and tried it on that phone. Worked like a charm. Great service -
I just hope I get to use it sometime.

Any advice, help, anecdotes?

thanks,
Kitster

On my Instinct, there is the crappy proprietary browser - and when I
use it - I get the error I have been describing.

I also have Opera Mini 3. I can access pages on that browser, but since
the phone has the tragic flaw of a non-compatible keyboard - so it cannot
be used with other, non-Instinct applications. So, I can only view pages
that are linked from the Opera Mini home page (MySpace, ESPN).

There is a way to post on a Opera Mini forum links to other web sites.
Then you can use the Opera Mini and look at those links on the phone. This
is indeed a workaround, but it works.

My question is - when a user logs into Moodio.. is there a way to pass a username
and password via a url, so if I were to click on this link, it would go to MY page on
the browser without having to enter my user/pass on the Log In screen? If so, I
can place this link in a post on the Opera Mini forum, and surf to it on the phone.

As you can see, I am itching to utilize Moodio! Any help would be appreciated!

Just wondering if anyone has figured out what's going on with the "access denied" message and Samsung phones.
My husband just bought a Blackberry Curve yesterday, and wanted to listen to one of his favorite Oklahoma sports radio stations through streaming radio. He looked up some forums, and came across Moodio. He had no issues at all. Moodio works like a charm on the Blackberry Curve.
I thought to myself, "I can listen to Sprint Radio on my phone, so Moodio should work for me, too." Apparently, it's not so. I have a Samsung Rant, and when I try to log in from my phone, I get the same ""Access Denied - You are not authorized to access this page" message. So, I'm beginning to wonder if it's a Samsung issue.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

I finally am able to log in. I see my stations, but because the phone doesn't handle the streaming media type - the browser cannot play the stations. No workaround. No satisfaction. Boo.

I am waiting until summer and getting a Palm Pre. I cannot wait to ditch this Instinct for good.

Sorry for the bad news!

Looks like I am having the same issue reported here. I tried on my LG vantage to login and I use my correct username and password or email and password, and I get the same:

"Acess Denied - You are not authorized to access this page"

I can login on the computer, I have tried changing passwords, I have gone to the direct address (node/62) in my phone's and the same problem. Any idea yet? This sems to be happening on more than just the instinct & LG Vantage.

Thanks.
