BlackBerry Curve 8320 -wifi

Works with Blackberry Curve, sweet! via WIFI no problem

I have tmobile, and it works sometimes, if the URL (Streaming URL) hasn't been blacklisted capped . Sadly all the major US carriers cap "unlimited bandwidth" by monitoring URL's and when one gets too much load it is capped or blocked.. phones were really never ment to stream.. but enjoy until they block it.. itr works!

What version OS are you using?

how in the hell this this work I loged in NOW hot do here the radio NO link there

Are you sure about the blacklisting?

Do you know exactly how they do it? Do they block on domain, ip or individual URL? Maybe we can work around it by making the stream URL's variable by putting a rondom ID in it or something?

If I can post an additional question about the 8320 (and other UMA BBs): are there router settings that will help or harm this audio streaming? I find I can use m.youtube.com with WiFi only on some routers, even if I can always make UMA phone calls. Thanks.

You should surf to m.moodio.fm instead of www.moodio.fm on your phone.

Newbie here, would someone please give direction for 8320 TMoble fix??

I have used Moodio.fm for many months now. Issue I have is that it doesn't transition from UMA(WiFi) to EDGE. I always get a connection error, and have to hit back to re-establish my radio connection. It does however transition well from EDGE to UMA(WiFi). I have the T-Mobile Linksys router at home, so that might help as this is a really good device to use UMA with. I usually don't have any trouble using EDGE to listen to Moodio.fm, HOWEVER I have my bitstream set to the LOWEST rate and also on MONO. This is a free service guys, and I am sure T-Mobile and the others (AT&T, Sprint, etc...) will notice if you try to listen at High rates with Stereo. I mainly use Moodio.fm to listen to Public Radio (NPR, D-Welle, BBC, etc...) so I don't care about Stereo, but if you set yourselves down to a lower rate, and many Mono over Stereo, you might have less problems. My 2 cents.

Best BB OS I have tried is 4.5.0.93. With this OS I have had the least problems with Moodio.fm

It does work ... thanks. Wi-Fi use does not add to your RIM Blackberry Megabytes.

If the whole domain were blocked, you would not be able to surf to anything at *.moodio.fm Clearly, you reach the webpage with that lets you select the stations.

If the IP were blocked, you would not be able to surf to moodio.fm or to the IP address 82.94.252.82.

I believe that it is a bandwidth issue.

.

Setting the data rate to 12 kbps and mono was the trick for me. I'm off streaming with moodio on Wi-Fi and GPRS/EDGE. I listen mostly to talk radio, so the 12 kbps is just fine.

I did notice that my Blackberry Curve 8320 cannot hand-off between Wi-Fi data streaming and GPRS data streaming. It might be difficult to switch some of the parameters on the fly such as bandwidth and protocols. I do know that GPRS/EDGE uses WAP instead of HTTP to surf web pages. BTW, UMA is voice over Wi-Fi with GSM signaling.

On GPRS/EDGE, it eats up your data megabytes. While on Wi-Fi, it's free. The at home router brings huge value in this respect. I don't have to worry about my minutes while on it.

I have a T-Mobile/Linksys "HiPort" WRT54G-TM router at home. It works well for streaming to my Blackberry Curve 8320.

I gave my girlfriend a different T-Mobile/Linksys router. It's also working great for streaming m.moodio.fm to my Blackberry Curve and her son's T-Mobile (HTC) Shadow.

v4.5.0.81 (platform 2.7.0.78)

i have tried each and every thing mentioned here but its not working for me :( i want to use data connection for the blackberry spy software and i think my OS version is 5.0 but i am not sure. Please let me know how i can check this?

OS 5.0 is recent enough.
Did you also try changing the Yourmuze audio setting to mono or stereo (not parametric stereo).
