Same issue for me. I'm in the US, on AT&T. It's a little disappointing, I thought this would be the solution to my lack of internet radio software on my 5800, as it said it should work on any mobile phone.
Come on, Yourmuze.fm, make us Nokia 5800 users happy! Give us a fix!
I'm sorry to say that my Nokia 5800 works fine with Yourmuze.fm. I just signed up today, added some stations, browsed to m.yourmuze.fm with the standard browser, and it worked. The sound quality is decent at the higher bandwidth settings, which work fine over the 3G wireless network.
The only obvious difference is that I have Cincinnati Bell, but that shouldn't matter.
Hi,
I have tested the Nokia 5800 in the past and it worked fine - unfortunately i can't seem to find the phone anywhere in the office now :( .
Try it on wifi - if this works then you know for sure that it's something with AT&T.
Unfortunately these problems are very hard to troubleshoot. The problem is that the actual audio data is sent through UDP, which is frequently (by accident or on purpose) blocked by firewalls or routers at providers or even in home networks. This is not something we invented - it's the way that 3GPP has defined the mobile streaming media standards.
If streaming works on wifi but not on the cellular network, there are probably only 3 ways to fix it:
1) get AT&T to fix their network
or
2) switch to another provider
or
3) buy an iPhone - Apple uses a different streaming standard, based on HTTP. This should work on any network where viewing web pages is possible.
