File Extension

Does anybody know for sure what the file extension is for a station that is streaming to a Samsung Solstice? I'm just curious what the file extension (ex: .mp3, .wma, etc.) needs to be to enable audio to stream live on my mobile phone.

And if anyone does web design, perhaps you can answer this question:
- How would you make your website take a live stream from a computer and instantly convert it and continue streaming it live in a different format as this site does?
