It does seem this forum is fairly dead, so even though this post is 20 weeks old, I'll answer this to my knowledge for people with this issue in the future. Are you pasting the url from your browser? That would be the wrong way. The page that you visit to listen and the actual stream source url can be 2 different things. Sometimes, the page you visit simply contains scripts that will launch the stream in a media player. You will want to get the stream to actually launch in your favorite media player. Then(in the case of VLC, Winamp, and WMP) you will click properties and look for something like file, address, url, something of that sort. Copy+paste that as the url for your stream. If stream site X uses Flash, it gets a bit more complicated. You might then need to monitor your connection requests with software to find out just where your pc is connecting to the stream. Flash sucks, I know. I wish less sites would use it. Anyways, hope this helps.
