Nokia 6120 on Three (3 UK) pay as you go - fantastic

This service works wonderfully on a Nokia 6120 with either a 3g or GPRS connection on the Three network, in the UK. I use this service with a £5 per month "pay as you go" internet Add-on (2GB data allowance). Connect the Nokia with a mini FM transmitter and play the stream through your car radio when on the move.

Great minds think alike! I've invested in an adaptor for my E61 so I can plug in some decent Sennheiser headphones (the Nokia ear-buds on their hands-free kit are rubbish quality). If only my car stereo had an audio-in socket that would be perfect!

Suprisingly good quality driving around on the Orange network - listening to all those stations that you can't get on a normal car radio.

I really think this is the future of radio. In a few years time most cars will have built-in phone systems anyway for remote engine diagnostics and other services. As long as you have a flat-rate data tarriff then I think most of the population will be listening to streamed radio rather than conventional broadcasts...IMHO

Hey GlynR,

When we all have flat rate data tariffs, internet radio streaming in our cars will certainly appeal more than in-car DAB I think. We all have mobile phones more than we have incar-DAB radios.

I listen to the live stream through my car stereo by hooking the phone up to a little FM transmitter like this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LUPO-PORTABLE-TRANSMITTER-MODULATOR-CHANNELS/dp/B000S0XBE4/ref=pd_sbs_ce_2.

You should try it out. You can get cheaper ones from eBay just try the proof of concept, as I did. I has amazed that it worked really. So many times we are promised things with technology, but when it works, its amazing :-)
