Stream crackling on Nokia 500

General Support Forum

Submitted by krypto42 on 5/25/12 3:55 AM.

When I start to stream, from the "Connecting to YourMuze..." message onwards, the stream makes a 'crackling' noise (small drop-outs is a more apt description). It plays, but sounds like a record skipping. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anything be done to fix it?

I'm using a Nokia 500 on Symbian Anna.

Thanks.

Sob, sob, I thought I was all alone in my misery. It's such a relief to hear
there's someone else having the same problem.

I don't get any cracking but the audio is extremely garbled to the point of being
unable to understand what is being said. I've tried everything, the lowest bit rate,
the default bit rate, a high bit rate, but nothing works. I've got a 3.5 g connexion
which is supposed to be pretty good. I even bought a new faster phone hoping that would
fix the problem, but it didn't.

It starts off okay with "connecting to yourmuze..." and for about 10 seconds into
the station stream, then goes completely garbled. My other
streaming services work just fine, it only happens with the 3gp stream from mobile
yourmuze.

Yourmuze is my favourite and I want it work the way it did originally.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Transistor, are you also on a Symbian Anna device?

Everything is working fine on my old Nokia S60 devices. Unfortunately i don't have any recent symbian phones to test this with.

Oele,

Thanks for writiing, I been away for a few days.

Yeah, it's an Anna. My other Nokia phone was S40 Xpress music
5310 and the sound was actually quite good, even at a low bit rate. The sound however
was also garbled on my HTC Snap which I attributed to the older operating system, but
it now looks that wasn't the reason for the poor sound

I've gone into various high speed wifi spots and I still get the garbled sound.

Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks again.

I have a nokia 500 and it work perfectly,
perhaps it is because you havn't updated your symbian Anna to symbian Belle?
Do the update, and tell us if now it work.
