Struggling to find url with snooper/httpfox

General Support Forum

Submitted by mikemerritt on 5/12/12 11:51 PM.

Previously I managed to add Yunnan PBS Minority Language radio from http://www.zueiai.net/radio/yn/21.html. The real url is below.

I think zueiai just put a link to the station which originally comes from the Yunnan Radio site www.ynradio.com.cn and runs parallel to a shortwave service on 7210 MHz.

On the web, I run snooper and httpfox and cannot find anything that will work when pasted into "add station". Previously I added it using mms://116.53.251.142/mzgb but it doesn't seem to work now, but I can't find anything better.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

There is a bit of code on the view source window

type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="file=mzgb&type=video&streamer=rtmp://live.ynradio.com:1935/live/&autostart=true&caption=false&fullscreen=true"

Is this it? Is there a problem playing from rtmp sites?

Thanks

RTMP urls consist of two parts: the application (in this case rtmp://live.ynradio.com:1935/live/) and the actual stream (in this case: mzgb).

Try this url: rtmp://live.ynradio.com:1935/live/mzgb

Oele, you are a genius, I knew that HTTPfox and Snooper were telling me something, but rmtp is new to me. The troble with Chinese websites is it's so difficult to understand in the first place, anyway MANY THANKS!

I tried but didn't succeed. Which one of those stations would you like?

I'm still struggling with these concealed URL's. I used httpFox and Snooper again to find BandnewsFMm again(!!). I was listening for months everyday, then it vanished. Last time I got help:

Submitted by Shep on 5/17/11 1:04 PM. try http://77.67.109.164/NEWSRIOAAC but this time didn't work. The current URL http://playersradios.band.com.br/?r=rb_bandnewsfm_rio and source code gives rmtp's but nothing that works in add new station.

Any ideas? And for next time, any web look-up sites for streaming sites?

Best regards
mikem

Well, I carried on struggling without any guidance from YM.

In the end I resorted to Googling the station name and spent maybe 12-15 hours sifting all the results.

I tried all the source code, webhubtool, httpfox, snooper etc, time and time again, all useless.

Thanks to Google and Streaming the World.

You'd think someone would create an online URL snooper that we could all use by simply giving it any station's "Click here to LISTEN" link. How about it someone??

Meanwhile, mikemerritt, I'll have a look at what you're after.

Shep et al

I found them and added stations with success, however I like your idea of an app/software for "listen-and-find" (source) URL ...but I'm no programmer and couldn't write that ...see below

What I did to find these stations was more than the avarage user would do, and I hope some people in Brazil snd China can benefit from my work.

There are many network sniffers that code writers and app developers use but if the stream uses an embedded player, it's a nightmare for the novice to find the source.

I'm actually surprised that web searching of ip address and web servers yielded more useful results than than those sniffer programs, hence I can't think how to encode it, other than take a deep breath and start googling.
