Why this orange colour which is difficult to see daytime in phone?

The Android app is very dark and difficult to see in daylight. The orange coloured small text makes it almost impossible to see anything in clear daylight. Please give us the choice of black and white version of BIGGER text! Thank you!

I guess the small font is to accommodate phones with small, low-resolution screens. However, screens are getting bigger all the time and the larger displays with higher screen resolutions require the need for optimized font settings.
