Wont work on wi-fi, but works on GPRS/EDGE. 8320 4.5

General Support Forum

Using T-mobile 8320 on 4.5 OS I can't get moodio to load on wi-fi(uma) I just get to the media player, it says loading, then gives me an error.

However on EDGE/GPRS it does load and plays.

I can trick it into working on wi-fi by loading a moodio station over EDGE/GPRS with wi-fi turned off on my phone, then once the media players loads I go to connections and turn wi-fi back on. Go back to the media player and hit play.... I would rather not do this as it's annoying and doesn't work everytime.

Any tips on how I should be setting up my wireless router to get it to work?

You're probably behind a NAT router on wifi. The router should understand RTSP. Maybe it's something you can configure on the router, or maybe you need to buy a new router.

For me GPRS is always choppy, Moodio only streams well on EDGE or Wi-Fi. I'm not sure GPRS is fast or strong enough to produce quality streaming radio over the air. EDGE (or hopefully 3G soon on T-Mobile) are the best bets for streaming if you aren't on Wi-Fi.

As far as my original post about problems connecting straight through wi-fi, oele was right. I was behind a strict NAT, and I figured out how to set the NAT to 'open' and it connects first try now. I actually opened the NAT due to inability to find games quick enough on XBOX Live so I am good on both fronts now. Too bad my connection at work still has me behind a strict NAT so I still have to trick it into working at the job.

But Thanks!
